Sledding Sand Point
It cleared up outside after a blizzard, so after work the other night we headed to where we heard there was good sledding. On our way, Jim said, "If we're not wanted there, we'll just leave, okay?" (You know how, growing up, sledders could be very territorial of "the good hill" in the neighborhood?) To our delight, when we got there, the kids motioned for us to come on up to the top. We introduced ourselves, and they offered us their speedy sleds on loan for a few runs too. We couldn't believe our good fortune. We guess it's just like that when there's enough snow to go around.
Jim built up a packed-snow mogul near the bottom of the hill, and it was like we could do no wrong after that. One good-looking chubby kid kept saying to Jim, "You are the man!" The next day at the clinic, a few people told us their children had come home with sore rears and that it was "Jim the dentist and his girlfriend's" fault.
