Dental Equipment Arrives To Akutan
After a week of waiting, late Saturday night, Jim's four 50-gallon boxes of dental equipment finally arrived. After being delayed due to weather in Cold Bay, then Dutch Harbor, they were brought to Akutan by the Pegasus, one of Trident's commercial fishing vessels. Jim took the gator to the plant to pick them up, and he and Mami spent Sunday unpacking and setting up for the big week ahead of them. This is the first time Jim has ever had to apologize to his patients about the "fishy" smell of the gauze he's putting in their mouths. We've both noticed the fresh fish smell of several of our patients from Trident who are commercial fishermen. Several hours in a fishing boat must render that effect to just about anything.
