Bread

A loaf of bread costs $9 here, so we're making our own. Sarah's sister and Katie Griggs do the whole kneading and baking in the oven thing, but we have a breadmaker. We just throw in the ingredients at night, set it to do its thing on a timer, and when we wake up in the morning, the whole house smells like a fairytale bakery. Sarah's dad sent us the best recipe for bread, copied below. Check out the last ingredient, keeping in mind that it's legal in this state to have a 1/2 cup less than that in your home at all times. Thanks, Charley.

100% WHOLE WHEAT BREAD
1 1/2 c. water
2 T. molasses
1 T. honey (or just 3 T. honey)
4 C. whole wheat flour
2 T. gluten
2 t. salt
2 1/2 t. active dry yeast
Some Alaskans add 1 c. ground reefer weed
