Cold Bay: Parting Shots
Cloud-shrouded Frosty Peak, 5,803 ft. volcano situated southwest of Cold Bay (as seen from the Cherokee on our ride to King Cove)
Lucretia, new buddy from Izembek Refuge, coming straight from work in her drysuit to see us. We got to have dinner together that night, and learned some about her job after Jim asked her what she does in the "wildlife industry" (conjuring up images we all described, laughing nearly in tears, of waterfowl standing on assembly lines putting things together and of caribou in skanky outfits workin' the street corners)--Jim was a good sport about it, as usual.
