We had hoped to make a second attempt toward Hot Springs Bay this weekend, but by late Sunday morning, it didn't look like it was going to happen. There was a dense fog and it was blowing just under 40 mph. We were still sitting on the couch drinking coffee at noon, with Daylight Savings Time the culprit, when the sun started to pour through the clouds. Within minutes the fog was gone, and by one o'clock, we were filling little baggies with saltines and pretzels, throwing swimsuits on under layers, and heading out the door. We picked up Mami, Dawn, and Lorraine on the way through town and trekked toward Trident, through their net junkyard, where we looked over the ridge of the hill towering above the plant to see these eagles soaring and swooping in the sunshine. We count 36 in this picture (and not a raven among them), but there were more.
