Kayak-A-Kid

The high school kid running this event, C.J., made it the most exciting one (in addition to the fact that, having wheels, it pretty much stole the show anyway). Originally thinking we would be outside, I had found two toboggan sleds and tied ropes to them for pulling kids across grass. After hearing the forecast, I found some rolling turtles in the P.E. equipment closet and duct taped two of them to the bottom of each sled for easy riding across the school gym floor (Jim and I took each other for a spin late the night before after finishing set-up--definitely fun). The relay was meant to be tribemates pulling each other, but C. J. saw that it wasn't working out, so he and Clarissa starting slinging the kids around themselves. The game was, consequently, a blast.
