What Weekends Were Made For

An unusually eclectic sea creature rests on a rock at low tide on Sand Dollar Beach.

Day trip in the backcountry with Mike and Mami.

Remember the water cycle? Evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection? When we were children, we were fascinated by that cartoon of the ocean, the clouds, the rain, and the streams with a recycle-ish arrow in between each, indicating it going round and round and round. We were talking about how we both always wondered about these "tributaries" that delivered water back to the ocean. Where could you find them, and why is there no cartoon arrow to help? Anyway, now we know it's not usually quite as obvious as it seemed back then, even though this picture does a near-perfect job of illustrating the cycle.
